Managed to get camping sorted in Epinettes but as I have not been for a few years was hoping someone could let me know what this campsite is like. Can you park with your pitch? Facilities any good? Always used to go Houx or Houx Annex so location should be familiar.

Thanks in advance!

yes you can park car in your spot, the site has good facilities and a fan zone area with big screen, however it is a fair walk to watch the action or to the pit straight area.

Although not as far as the walk from Beausejour!

I’ll be on Epinettes for the first time too. I’ve camped in Houx many times and I’m familiar with the area. The walk to the track is going to be a little longer but still not too taxing. There are shuttle buses and mini trains which depart from the area near the Houx roundabout/tram stop which I’ll aim to make use of.

I like Epinettes - the walk to the circuit is fine.

Am going to the 2025 Le Mans Classic and staying on the Epinettes campsite for the first time. There will be 16 of us. When does the campsite open? Planning on arriving on Wednesday 2 July and leaving on the Monday morning. Don't want to get there on the Wednesday to find it closed!! Look forward to hearing from someone in the know. Cheers.

I’m going in this so look out for us. I think you will find the camp site opens on the Thursday.

we're on Epinettes this year after being heartbroken to Learn that Tertre Rouge is no more. I have hearsd that there might be electric hook up on Epinettes, is this true? I'll bring my gaffa tape and 90 metres of cable if so!

There are a few points next to the facilities in Epinettes, but nowhere near enough. You'll need a double adaptor, loads of tape, and more cable if you don't get there early

There is no actual provided AC power on Epinettes just the genies for the big screen, toilets and showers. Lots of cables running to those, but security staff kept busy removing the many multi plugs and reinforcing the fences round the genies over the weekend last year. So, who knows how they will handle it this year. I was surprised it did not go up in smoke or worse as it was a right lash up on the toilet block at the entrance.

It’s a good campsite been last two years. Can park with tent . It’s a bit more of a hike to the track but not to bad. Just the otherside of road to houx.
Their are power points but they soon get used up and early many so if do get in will want extra long leads and some good tape for at the powers point and where you join your extension leads together.
Toilets and showers are ok.

Big screen and huge canopy to sit under and watch the racing when back at camp superb. Sometimes bar and food there sometimes not lol.

Nightmare to get out after the race and they stop you coming out I think up to an hour before the end.

Not just an Epinettes issue, think all 'inside' campsites were locked down for a few hours last year. I assume the thinking is to easy congestion on the roads by staggering the release of vehicles, VIPs non-camping cars first, then campers.

Last year the signs only went up on the Sunday, so no warning, then got updated with an earlier start time...then a good hour after the 'reopening' time before anyone moved anywhere from my campsite (Hippodrome, geographically next to Epinettes but different access road).

The main advantage of Epinettes is that it not only has a better toilet/shower-to-camper ratio than most other sites, it is also not a main thoroughfare like Houx is so you get no passers by using the facilities, so everything is in much better condition/less queues etc.

When we stayed on Houx we always ended up at the far end nearest the vehicle entrance so it is only another 5 mins walk to Epinettes' entrance.

This is what it was like for the 24 Hours in June 2023 with most of the cables then having dividers on them further away. No idea what it was like in 2024 as was elsewhere.

We’ve been on epinettes for the last few years after being relocated from Bleu Nord , the site is fine good toilet facilities fan zone and not too far to walk into the circuit. One point on the electric, if you read the information on the site there is no electricity supplied, some people ( as the photo) have tapped into the electricity box . But be warned, last year the security guys cut all the power cables ( and there was hell on ) But as they tried to explain your not allowed to tap into it . So my advice to avoid disappointment, BRING your own generator like most do or go without.

Love the grey gaffer tape or blue plastic plug for water protection! biggrin
