Hi all,

I'm looking at buying an EV due to my companies car allowance rules and their drive to a zero emissions fleet.

My query is around car tax for EVs coming in next year. I'm struggling to find an answer to this online but if I buy an EV before the tax rule change, do I still need to pay tax on it in March (when the rules change) or would it come in on the anniversary that I originally taxed the car?

Thanks

You can tax a car at any time. Do it now and you will get a year for free. And do it again in March before the changes and you will get a year for free.

The premium car tax, only applies to EVs registered after March 25

My EV, i’ve renewed it monthly, so a rolling 12 months £0, unless that is stopped!
(need the code from V5)
