I'm running 15.1.1 on my MBP (M1 Pro).

No issues so far.

I updated Saturday and wish I hadn't.

I can no longer use my Canon photo scanner as unsupported.

Also keep getting a popup to agree to new iCloud T&C's which will not go away despite numerous clicks.

FFS Apple!

Grr! That is exactly the kind of nonsense I’m trying to avoid. I have iMac, Air and iPhone and they’ve got into a right tiswas between the three of them on this iCloud and Apple ID stuff. I get put into horrible loops all the time.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

I've been googling and trying to restore my MacBook Air M1 from a Time Machine backup but have yet to come up with any answers than to just live with it.

I do have a MacBook Pro that I can use the scanner on as I will now not "update" it.

Still got the iCloud update problem. 😠

Fingers crossed a Mac techie is watching.

Unsupported devices are down the manufacturer of said devices I thought?

Is it the Canon software that is unsupported? Have you tried Image Capture that is built in to the Mac? It's what I use for my aging Epson printer/scanner

Thanks for the suggestion but sadly Image Capture does not seem to work.

I know no longer supported / built in obsolescence is a thing but still very pee'd.

Have managed to get a scan using NAPS2, very low quality so far but will now look for other free or low cost alternatives.
Or as said I can still use an Intel Mac for now.

Still having the iCloud issue.

Is this not really a big deal?

Take a Time Machine backup before installing a new OS update, and if you've problems, roll back to the pre-install point using the backup you just made...? That's what I do, anyway. I use a seperate USB drive whenever a major update comes (i.e from 14 to 15) and then you can always roll back to that one too.

Yes I did a Time Machine backup but can't get it to work.

Two attempts said "not enough space". banghead

Not sure what I'm doing wrong as not had to try this in the past.
More googling when I have the mental space available.

UPDATE:-

Just got off the phone with a senior Apple support bod after three normal bods.

After screen sharing and getting me to, restart in safe mode (didn't work), log out and into back into iCloud twice senior bod then got me to force quit system settings, that did the trick.

Happier bunny now.

Still wish I'd not updated.

15.1.1 is running fine on my 2021 14" MBP. No peripheral issues either.

15.1.1 is running well on my Mid2015 MBP 15" (yes, it's 9 years old) Usually I wait for x.2 or x.3 for an OS generation jump but went early this time and it's fine.

My Mini is still on 15.1, I just did a restart and I got a pop up saying my 'Epson Seiko xxxx' will not load in future updates. So I may have the same issue with my Epson Scan/print. Maybe I'll hold off with the update to 15.1.1 until I can confirm Epson will update their firmware.
