I had an email from O2 saying they're putting our prices up again (Mrs C and I were with Virgin Mobile and migrated to O2 when they took over)

The main thing I use it for is the data - 5gb for £8.52 was ok I thought. perhaps not amazing or the best but (theoretically) I was on a good network and 5gb was enough for all my emails, youtube and satnav needs. However I've had an email from O2 to say it's going up by £1.80 so it will be just over a tenner).

Lebara are doing 10gb/month for £5.95 (actually Ive just checked and Talkmobile seem to be 20gb for £5.95). Both use the Vodafone network which (unlike O2) provides good 5g coverage in my area.

Does anybody have any experience of lebara or talkmobile? Am i better sticking with the devil I know?

My Dad uses them, no issues at all but we haven't had to contact them for anything either so cannot comment on customer service

Switched to Lebara from Sky. They use the Vodaphone network. 15gb for £6.95pm free roaming in EU. Decent 5g most of time. Good app. Can’t fault them.

I've not used lebara but can recommend 1p mobile who piggy back EE.

Excellent service and more importantly great coverage. They also give free EU roaming which many no longer do.

I'm with Lebara, and my wife's just switched to them after Voda put their prices up again.

No complaints from either of us.

I switched from 140gb pm Vodafone at £18pm to 50gb Lebara for £9.90pm, which uses the Vodafone network and dont think its any worse for signal for it.

Better still MSE had a deal on where first 6 months are £1.25 with no contract.

Also contrary to comments online I was able to port my number from Voda to essentially Voda.

No complaints my end.

I can't see any reason for many (most?) people to be on the host network when there's a plethora of suppliers at lower cost (iD on 3 here)

I was on O2 but paying about £18 for data that I wasn't using (was pushed over from VM and couldn't have a cheaper contract).

Because of that I was already ready to move as soon as my contract was over. Ended up on IDmobile and have had no problems with them in the last 3 months. Here's a link: https://aklam.io/8Akr6n

They're on the 3 network.

Another vote for Lebara here.

My o/h and I are both on their network and we're very happy with the service.

I moved to them after loads of various issues on Three.

Been amazing and (live chat only) the staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Like three used to be...

My whole family use them now, I am on the £5 a month for 5GB plan and it has been brilliant, the price has not gone up since I started about 3 years ago.

You get full roaming in Europe for free, and again I have never had an issue using data on holiday.

The website is brilliant too, my daughter had her phone stolen a few months ago so I ran to the shops, bought another sim card and was able to transfer her number and terminate the old sim instantly.

Another vote for Lebara here. I have used them for a few years with no issues and recently got my Mother a smart phone with a Lebara sim and hers works perfectly too.

I got a great deal on Lebara.

30gb exclusive monthly plan SIM is in my car, primarily for data

Unlimited calls and texts, 30gb data ... £1.99 for 6 mths, then £7.99 per month.

No complaints on service so far.

My Mrs is on Lebara.

Me and my stepson are on o2 but just got the price rise email, so i'll be moving them to lebara too.

Just signed up for 5GB MSE Exclusive Monthly Plan.

£1.35 for 6 months, £4.90 afterwards.

Only need 5gb, I'm on Wifi at work, Wifi at home and Wifi around others houses, so don't need loads of data. Happy with that smile

Now that's interesting, EE are widely regarded as having the best coverage but also being the most expensive. I wonder if there's any throttling in place for this MVNO vs direct with EE.

Yep, exactly the same position here. Just to mention that you can get up to 20GB for £6 from Talkmobile - seems to be worth it even if you never use it?

Not all the MVNOs get access to all the available bands - Lycamobile is EE, but essentially unusable, whereas 1p Mobile is EE and generally fine.
