A few minutes ago the unmistakable sound of an AN12 made the windows buzz. I haven't heard that for years.

This was a CAVOK Air cargo flight from Birmingham to Asturius.

I heard the drone of one a few moments ago. I checked ADS-B and it actually passed at least 10 miles away. I wouldn’t normally hear anything from that distance. Started out from Istanbul.

I heard UR-CKM fly over again earlier. I followed it on ADS-B and it’s heading into Dublin. That’s probably about 6 hours from Istanbul. Any ideas what they would be transporting?

I've read somewhere they're moving parts for a Turkish airline aircraft that suffered a heavy/hard landing there's been many into Dublin over the last few weeks

It went over our house at around 15:30 and I actually managed to see it for the first time. It really is a very noisy aircraft.

Yes, just read that there was a tail-strike landing of an A321 Neo on 18 October, so it’s been stranded there for nearly 6 weeks now. Judging by the quantity of AN-12 parts flights, they could probably have built a new plane by now!

UR-CNN went over our place this afternoon en-route to Dublin and then back towards Istanbul this evening. Really hoping I manage to see one when the weather improves.

UR-CKM is passing Snowdonia just now heading out of Dublin. It’s a busy day for them.
Got a cracking view of one of these on the ground a couple of months ago, was flying out of Malaga and it was parked next to the fence on the way in, lit up by the floodlights in the early dawn, great view from the road into the terminal.
