Brabus bucks trend with new 'Peetch' collection

Bored of black Brabuses? No such problem here

Never let it be said that Brabus isn’t moving with the times. Where once we might only have expected (and appreciated) black mega Mercedes coupes, now there are motorhomes, motorbikes, rally raid G-Classes… and now the Peetch cars. Yes, that is how Brabus is spelling it. And yes, there really is as much ‘peetch’ as your eyes are suggesting.

Still, a 600hp Range Rover and 900hp 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in the colour of an iffy spray tan are about as far from black S-Classes as could be imagined. This is what diversifying the product offering looks like in Bottrop, clearly. The Peetch 600 was once a long-wheelbase Range Rover with the 530hp V8; now it gets Brabus’s PowerXtra 600 upgrade, with you-know-how-many horsepower and 590lb ft. Apparently it’ll now reach 62mph in 4.5 seconds.

But all that seems rather secondary to the appearance. The additional carbon accents are rather overawed by the peachiness, which extends to the 24-inch Monoblock wheels that look… unique. Let’s go with that. They’re more than just attention-grabbing, too, as ‘advanced forging and CNC machining technology’ should mean a bit less unsprung weight, to the benefit of handling. Which will be further helped by a 20mm ride height drop thanks to Brabus’s rework of the air suspension.

The inside is equally bold (to put it lightly), with what’s being called ‘extravagantly styled leatherwork’ - you can say that again - offset only slightly with some carbon features and aluminium pedals. Even by the standards of modified Range Rovers, the Peetch 600 is extravagant. Brabus won’t be able to make enough of them.

And for those who don’t need the space of a long-wheelbase Range but must have a Peetch Brabus, there’s the 900. It takes the mechanical spec of the 900 Rocket R - Brabus turbos on the 3.7-litre flat six, 900hp and 738lb ft - then decks it out in a colour scheme that’d probably be a bit much even for Porsche Sonderwunsch. It’s excellent. Imagine the sight of this doing 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds, or reaching 211mph. You’d want to see it.

Additional upgrades for the 900 Peetch include forged wheels (21-inch front, a chunky 22-inch rear, you know the colour), a 25mm ride height drop on adjustable springs, and a Brabus bodykit - the rear wing and diffuser are perhaps the most notable changes. Peetch looks like just the thing for those who say a 911 Turbo is too demure to be a proper supercar.

The inside gets a similar treatment to the Range Rover. ‘Every single detail echoes the unmistakable 1-Second-Wow effect of its exterior’, reckons Brabus, and there’ll be little arguing with that. As with the 600, what isn’t carbon in the Peetch 900 is, well, peetch. That’s Brabus Seashell Diamond quilting on the seats, doorcards and mats, a truly spectacular carbon and leather-clad steering wheel, plus a backlit aluminium footrest. Of course.  Brabus suggests that both Peetch cars represent a ‘cheeky twist on our typical design language’, which is one way of putting it. ‘With this haute couture-inspired aesthetic, we are setting the stage for a striking redefinition of high-performance luxury’.

Quite what the pretty-in-Peetch Porsche will cost isn’t clear yet, though we can make a good guess given closely related cars. A recently sold ‘Mean Green’ Rocket R - so a 911 Turbo S Coupe with the same engine upgrades as the Peetch 900 - was offered at €700,000 (or £585,000). As for the Range, the very Peetch seen here is in Brabus’s stock of available cars. It’s half a million euros. Keep searching #Peetch on your socials for spots of it soon, no doubt.

It looks like when you let a 3 year old do colouring in. They don’t know when to stop using the pens.

I believe the specific shade the Porsche is painted in is called "Ferdinand Peetch".
