DB11 Emergency Key
Discussion
After a year of ownership, I finally got around to obtaining a replacement emergency key for my 2017 DB11. I got it from Phoenix Bespoke Keys. How can I make sure this thing works? I put it in the key slot and it does indeed turn, and I can feel that something mechanical is happening, but the door does not open. Is there a trick or something obvious I'm missing? I checked the owner's manual and it implies the emergency key is to be used if the car is dead, but also says the alarm will sound (which sounds less than desirable). Also, I can hear something like a relay clicking in the door when I turn the key.
I'm in the same boat with my 2013 DB9.
There is a short cable that connects to the back of the key lock cylinder that pulls the cable, I think, which locks my door but when trying to unlock it doesn't push the cable enough to unlock (my guess). I haven't been brave enough to tear into the door yet to try a fix, it's both doors for me.
