I've been asked what I want for Christmas and most stuff I'm after immediately blows any budget!!

One thing I was considering was a dual action polisher. I'll probably only use it once or twice a year so I don't want to sink a lot into it. I've got a Mini with a black roof and it's got an etched bird st in there which I've never addressed.

I have some cordless tools by worx with a few batteries but they only sell this orbital so I'll probably just get a corded tool.

Anything decent enough under the £100 mark with pads etc?

Have seen this recommended on many sites.

https://www.in2detailing.co.uk/collections/polishi...

That whole site is full of well recommended gear.

Thanks for the link. I'd seen a couple on Amazon, namely the DAS-6 kit
https://amzn.eu/d/5cwBsEt

Ginour
https://amzn.eu/d/0PsbzQY

Hyundai
https://amzn.eu/d/9czkdzs

Wondered if there was much between these and the into detailing option?

Revitalising this as I've just found 115 quid in Amazon vouchers. Is there one to avoid? Used to have a porter cable but it got knicked after two uses!! Don't need polishes/compounds, just for home use.

I got the Ginour one for Christmas. Comes with all the bits, haven't had chance to use it yet though due to weather.

When the guy I bought one of my current fleet from painted the car he managed to get some dust on it. He said he'd put three coats of clear over on it to allow for cutting back.
Assuming it is just in the final coat, will a DA shift most of it. is that DAS-6 the best option and what should I be looking at in the way of pads etc?
(I all my years I've only ever used 1000/2000grit and T Cut?).
Thanks

Id be taking it back to him and asking him to rectify it, sounds a right mess to me. How can you be sure how deep the dust is?

Bought the car in that condition, didn't commission him to paint it.

Difficult to advise without seeing it really, i would guess it needs the wet and dry breaking out but good luck with it.
Maybe let a pro detailer advise on it first?

I bought a cheap halfords own brand DA and for my uses (a couple of times a year it comes out the box) it's been perfect. I tend not to use Halfords pads and buy better quality ones on linevfrom detailing sites but the actual DA is great andbperfect for occasional.home use. Cheap too.
