DB11 gauge query
Discussion
Had a V8 DB11 for a couple of months, not driven it much but just wanted to get some clarification from those in the know.
When driving in Sport+ (aka all the time), an extra temperature gauge shows up on the clocks beneath the fuel and temperature levels. I had initially assumed that this would be oil temperature but started to get worried that the levels barely ever rose, ie I'd have to drive very far or very hard for it to even increase.
Before pulling the trigger on a replacement sensor I thought I'd read the user manual which states that it's actually displaying transmission temperature, which made sense given the way it was operating.
My question is, is there actually no live oil temperature gauge on the DB11 or am I being blind? I had a C63 before which shared the same infotainment system and it would show all of the engines vitals but it doesn't seem apparent in the Aston.
If my suspicions are correct then it's a bit odd, I'm so used to my previous cars having the oil temp so it is very unnerving without it!
Any input welcome

On my AMG GTS, yes, that's the way its system was setup. When in Sports mode, the trans temp gauge would appear. Yours is basically the same system in the DB11 V8.
Also, there was no oil temp gauge on this platform. Some had installed aftermarket ones to manage actual oil temp.
This was one setup, a member in Germany converted two of the center vents in a GTR to aftermarket gauges, one of which was an oil temp, that he had to install a sensor which doesn't exist on this platform:

Yes that is correct. The gauge (only in Sport+) is transmission oil temp, and no engine oil temp at all on the DB11.
If the engine oil temp gets above a certain level you get a warning light. The tech on these cars is so you don't fret needlessly !
At least the DB11 has a dipstick. When I got my Range Rover Sport I spent a good 20 minutes searching for it. There isn't one !
