Hi
I have just learnt that I have a very small leak in one of my Gaz Nickel coil overs
Options are to rebuild or buy new all 4 or just 2 on the same axle

I have looked on line and Gaz GHA seem be an equivalent.
Any body had any experience of these.

How about getting them fitted .
I am near Cambridge or supply and fit

They are not silly money to rebuild I don't think so that's an option I'd probably choose.
I wouldn't put mismatched kit on these cars.

If you decide on new I'd be interested in buying your old ones.

Fitting suspension looks like a relatively easy task, it's the alignment that needs a bit more attention.
I saw Gaz Gold on offer somewhere in the last few days:

I currently have Protech fitted by the previous owner, they are still in good condition though have sagged over the years and I will be adjusting them to raise the car back up when I get a decent moment. Hence the research (I concluded that a C spanner is markedly cheaper than new suspension all round).

Anyway, this is the reduced price I saw:

Hi
Thanks for the replies. I have some time to decide my options as I one has a very small weep and has just passed the MOT. Doesn’t affect the handling of the car

The link below is for Gaz GHA coil overs and a different choice to Gaz Golds and a cheaper option

As suggested a DIY job is possible but are fitting these a difficult job and would a complete set up be required if the new ones are set to the same length as the existing Gaz Nickels

Maybe the photo but what is the bracket shown on these .Has anyone fitted these

If I change them out I would certainly be up for letting the existing Nickels go.
I do still have the original Bilsteins shocks that also I need to dispose of sometime.

No, not a difficult job. From memory the bottom bolt on the front ones is a bit of a fiddle.

they've used a generic photo, those are not Chimaera shocks

Not difficult to fit. Bottom bolts are awkward.
Personally I'd spend the extra and get the bilsteins from ben lang. The difference between gaz and the bilsteins is night and day.

Sounds silly but i preferred the fit and forget option of the Ben Lang Bilsteins which is why i changed from Gaz Golds.
Got to be honest though i didnt notice a night and day difference.
I suppose the beauty of fully adjustable is you could tweak the ride height slightly to your tastes but ive always been led to believe they should be set up as they left the factory.
If you were going down the fully adjustable route fitting is fairly straightforward but id always recommend letting someone who knows these cars set the suspension geometry up finally.
I find adjustable dampers a bit of a waste of time just purely for road use, you always seem to thinking of playing with them and are never sure if you have it right.
