question about origonal mini cooper s wheels

A freind of mine has some 10inch by 4.5J steel wheels with 9 round holes.

Can anybody confirm if they are coopers S wheels?

Do they have "deep dish" If they are,they are Cooper reserve rim.

Definately Cooper 'S'. As 'Vroom' says, if they have a large offset they are Cooper 'S' reverse rim type which were developed for wider racing tyres to clear the rear radius arms(I think), but anyway, they are good things to have and quite valuable these days.
Reverse rims require wheel arch extensions, whilst those with the standard offset don't.

I think there are 2 types of reverse rim, one is wider on the inside for Cooper S (this will fit over the S discs and wider rear drums without arches), and the standard reverse rim for Cooper, which is wider on the outside and fits all, although arches maybe needed.

The S versions are rarer than the standard reverse rims. I may have some pics of the different types if needed.

There are 4 types of drilled rim, the 3.5" S with the domed centres which look odd, the ones which appear like normal mini wheels from the outside apart from the drillings, which are the 4.5"S the dished 4.5" reverse rim and another more rare S-reverse rim which is stamped 5", all made by dunlop, IIRC the 5" rim looks outwardly the same as the 4.5" reverse rim but has an extra 1/2" on the inside. I would like a set of 5" reverse rims as the 4.5" ones look utter tosh on S disks.
