My Ultima GTR will be hitting the Aberdeenshire road in April 2025. 5 year + build time. It finally passed the IVA Test on the 3rd attempt. 1st failure emissions and Dba too loud was the main issue. Ended up fitting switchable exhaust system. 2nd failure lights, headlight beam not correct (Ultima Factory, fitted lights in Clam) prior to delivery of the body. Ended up fitting new L.E.D lights, slight mod to light covers inside wheel arches, main issue. Minor one, wing mirrors, glass mirror extends beyond lip, sharp edge exposed on full deflection. Another minor one, helicopter windows, again sharp edge exposed when open. Don't laugh. it costs £90 for each retest. It all depends on the Inspector on the day, I also had silly things not worth mentioning. I used MACG RACING (Derby) to commission the built car, IVA Preparation. Mapping the engine LS7 modified by (Jeff Schwartz Performance) 650HP at crank, Dynoed at 552 WHP. My sincere thanks to them, such a professional company. I have 4 recommendaions to any fellow builders. 1. If using a 996 GT2 gearbox then fit a MPL slave clutch cylinder, depressing the clutch pedal was horrendous before modification. Your left leg would cramp in heavy traffic. 2nd. Fit an EPAS, remember if it's going on the road, parking would be sore on the arms. 3rd Fit parking sensors and rear camera, decent ones can be found in your Internet market place. 4th increase the padding in the seats (bum area). A good Trim shop can do this and still make the seats look standard.
Just thought I'd share a little of my experience getting the car through the IVA Test.

Don't often see ultima posts in Scotland, so congrats for that, not sure if my build has "outlasted" yours as I started in 2004 but have been through several incarnations since, hopefully sort of finished next spring ha ha

Hi. Your car looks great, well done, they are quite a build. I heard from Ultima there was another build in Aberdeen? Never managed to make contact. Over the winter I will be fitting a Racetronic's GPS Traction Control System rear wheel braking. Handy when it rains. Inside car and engine bay pics as asked. Used Gardener Douglas AirBox cold air intake all helps.

There are several Ultimas in Scotland, mostly fairly quiet but there nonetheless. Wish we had better weather to allow access to the roads.
Hopefully get sequential gearbox fitted in january, maybe sort out the active aero before summer, and the water meth.....ugh so much to do!

My, your going to be busy then. Haven't yet considered Air Splitter or Rear Wing. Always going to be a road car. One last item on the list is EPAS, going to use Easysteer. Nice company to deal with, just needs to supply measurements and they can supply the unit with correct UJ's.
