Apols if there's some obvious way to figure this out - but how's the Autumnal colour in the Lakes right now? Have I missed it? Is the best yet to come? Will it be gone in a week's time?

Having got into landscape 'togging last year I now find myself consumed by thoughts like this - only I also find it difficult to just drop things and head up there, given commitments and a 4-5 hour drive.

Ta for any updates/advice. smile

This was Loughrigg Tarn last weekend. (Crappy, un-edited phone pic!)

Autumnal everywhere, but not sure how long it will last; lots of leaves were falling.

Thanks Mike, much appreciated (and that's a lovely picture!). Fingers crossed it still has a little to give, I might be able to get there later this week.

And if not I could just, y'know, enjoy the place. (And other such advice I'd give others but not follow myself.)

Heading up to north lakes in a weeks time and again early December for the rally.
Hoping it’s still autumnal.
I imagine it will change a lot between then and two weeks later when I visit again.

Well I made it up there - to find most of the colour on the floor - but by all accounts the Venn Circles of 'Autumn Colour' and 'Decent Weather' just hadn't coincided this year. I was, at least, treated to a bit of the latter and grateful for it:

My Ellen Bowness guide is now pretty dog-eared! laugh

Cheers,
