I have bought a set of Ecliptech ShiftP2 shift lights for my A110. The first problem is that I require a signal wire, as well as a live and earth feed - those are easy enough, but I haven't a clue where to start with the signal, so I'm posting in the hope that someone here will be able to give me some advice.

The other idea is to take a signal off the ECU, but I can't even locate that, does anyone know where I should look?

I'm guessing that not many here will have fitted shift lights, but having had them on a Caterham previously, I find them so much easier to use than the rev. counter, especially when up around the 6,000 mark, as thing are getting a bit busy outside then.

All help and advice gratefully received.

Paul.

Yes, I think the beeps work really well - much better than the lights I've had on previous cars, although I have to say the three different rev counters are the three worst rev counters I've had in any car I've ever owned.

I suppose with shift lights, you can set them to give you a warning to get ready to shift at 1000 RPM short of the red line, & then another light when you get there.

Yes, exactly that Tony, they are there in your periphery vision, especially when the road requires some concentration at higher speeds.

So, is there really no-one on here who knows where the ECU is situated? That is somewhat surprising.
