Film is a very difficult industry to get into, and academic qualifications are generally useless.

I'd like to know who thought that GCSE study would be helpful for a career in film......they should be hanged.

Not really its an interesting lesson and helps you to appreciate film making as an art. I suppose you think reading Shakespeare is pointless because its difficult to get a book published? It may be pointless for getting a job but there is more to life than work.
