Couldn’t find a thread so thought I’d start one.

England v New Zealand:

Furbank; Feyi-Waboso, Slade, Lawrence, Freeman; M Smith, Spencer; Genge, George (capt), Stuart; Itoje, Martin; Cunningham-South, T Curry, Earl.

Replacements: Dan, Baxter, Cole, Isiekwe, B Curry, Dombrandt, Randall, Ford.

6/2 split not a fan

Slade is a risk after 50 mins especially with the 6/2 split and no outside back replacement. Any injury must mean Ford to 10, Smith to fullback, Furbank to wing and Freeman to centre. Much better to have gone 5/3 and had Daly who can play anywhere from 13 out.

Does look like the plan is to monster New Zealand in the pack and just keep up the pressure.

Slade and Ford are bad calls IMO compounded by the 6:2 split on the bench. Lozowski or Daily would have been better options as Ford and Randall are are specialists. A single injury in the backs is going to need a huge amount of shuffling, 2 would be a disaster. Dombrandt is a luxury player IMO, if he doesn't start no point in having him in the squad as he's a specialist 8. Would have went for another back or a more flexible Forward such as Ted Hill.

Tom Curry is another one. On his day he's world class but has been dogged with Injury and it remains to be seen if he'll be the player he was. There's plenty of depth across the back row. CCS needs be more of an 80 min player.

Will be at the game and remain pessimist.

4 vice-captains
2 players short of game time having been recently injured
1 player slightly further along the recovery road

not sure that this is going to be a good game for us, hope to be proven wrong but....

Presume the game is only on Sky?

Rugby does itself no favours, sky high ticket prices, no open tv/online coverage, laws changing the game for the worse. Once our private schools are killed off by the Labour party, rugby will have the profile of Lacrosse.

Totally agree.

The internationals are on TNT Sports, which I don't have - so won't be watching.

Silly question but what is TNT, is that the old BT Sport?

League is on BBC on Saturday. It’s usual for the 6N to be shared between BBC and ITV. Not sure if that’s the case for the forthcoming season though

Thank you. Shame, I used to enjoy watching rugby on TV How many others are losing interest through lack of visibility?

Not helped with the Euro cup games only being available via Premier TV. The rugby governing bodies aren’t making watching the game easy these days.

Morning all!

Who fancies a bit of fantasy rugby for the Autumn Nations?

Click here to join the PH Fantasy Northerners league (league 10371) with password XQZBN.

Why PH Fantasy Northerners, you may ask? Well it appears that the people who created the Guinness Six Nations fantasy league either couldn't be arsed to code it in such a way as to easily allow the inclusion of players from the alleged Southern Hemisphere, or just assumed that nobody in their right mind would want to select such strange creatures anyway, so selection is limited to Six Nations players only! hehe

I get so frustrated by people whining about rugby being on pay TV! banghead

Clubs are going bust because there's sod all money in the game, and terrestrial TV doesn't have the money to make much difference, so of course they're going to go to Pay TV!

If you don't want to pay for a subscription, that's fine! Why not support your local rugby club by watching it there over a couple of beers that'll almost certainly be a quid or two cheaper than they would be in a pub?

I used to go but my club went bust. Nearest other one is a couple of hours away. To get support you want people to watch it. Bit like cricket. When I was a kid you used to know the entire england team and pretended to be them when you played. I can barely name any of them now. Can't even see on Ceefax....

I've got tickets to the match on Saturday but think I'm going to sell.

I've been in Twickenham all week for work, and can't really be bothered with the 6 hour round trip again at the weekend. On the plus side, the pitch is looking glorious and I've managed to sneak into the hospitality boxes throughout the week and marvel at all the old shirts etc that are hung up.

I’m going to Eng vs Aus so really looking forward to that.

This weekend as said above, 4 vice captains…… & Curry who’s played 50 mins…. we’ll see.

Looking forward to Cunningham-South doing some munching & Feyi-Weboso doing some dancing on the wing.

TNT seem to be the only ones interested. All about money at the end of the day, and there just isnt much commercial revenue in rugby in this country. Think Amazon previously screened some autumn AI's? The real kicker will be when the champions cup starts as that's on Premier Sports. I think it's a declining competition anyhow, moved away from being the best of the best to anyone and everyone. The latest format is a bit of a farce where a club can win one game and qualify for the knockouts. Sounds like it will wither on the vine potentially to be replaced by a wolrd club championship in time.

I think the inclusion of SA sides was a mistake. I started to lose interest
