Droopy door mirror

The driver's door mirror on my y2000 4.5 Chimaera has decided to start giving me a wonderful view of the road directly beneath it. Now, I understand that this can be a fiddly job to fix and so I shall not attempt it myself but will at some point, take it to a TVR specialist. In the interim I shall probably resort to good old gaffer tape but I need to know if there is a danger of the whole thing coming off. My guess would be that vibration from driving has loosened some nut in the door and so if I continue to drive it will presumably continue to loosen. Can the whole thing fall off? I am fully aware of the irreplaceability of Chimaera door mirrors so I don't want to risk disaster. My nearest TVR garage is about 50 miles away. Do I need to drop everything and hot-foot there right now or what? All constructive comments welcome. Thanks.
Another thought, when my one assumed this position it was a break where the frame attached, this part made for a fix until I replaced the frame.

I wouldn't be able to tell exactly what's what without removing the internal door cladding and that's something I really don't want to do as I am assuming it's glued in place. At least I don't see any obvious screws. If I were able to safely remove the cladding I'd have a look as the chances are that something just needs tightening. Is there a way in without breaking glue?
The door cards shouldn't be glued on, they are bolted in place - but you have to get to the bolts.
It has been documented a few times, but basically you take the door speaker off, then you have to put your hand and arm inside the door along the bottom to locate three bolts.
If you're lucky, someone has been there and swapped the nuts for wingnuts, if not, its a 10mm spanner.
Tie a piece of string to the ring end of the spanner, so you can retrieve it easily when you drop it, and be prepared for a fairly scratched up arm.
Then the whole card just lifts upwards and away - be aware of wiring connections (cigarette lighter).

A ratchet spanner will help.

Good chance the threads will be rusty.
Apply lubricant before starting helps.
Door card or cladding does not need to come off (it is not glued on).
Either the part that screws into the door (black arrow) has come lose. Have you tried turning the mirror to tighten it back up?
Or the grub screw (red arrow) has come lose. It is a right fiddle to access, I suggest you try to find someone in your local TVRCC group who is a bit more "hands on" than I get the feeling you are to help you.
Have you tried searching old threads for floppy mirror or door card removal, both have been discussed many times
