Can people be extradited for a crime that they've committed and been sentenced to here? No doubt the Americans will try anyway.

I believe so. And like you say, the yanks usually find a way. I don't see why it would be different to the NCA hacker that they then wanted extradited.

Luckliy these kind of people are few and far between, but unfortunately the internet allows them to operate at a scale and across jurisdictions that they couldn't do 30 years ago.

Not a lot else to add, other than thanks to those individuals who had to find the content, review and assemble the evidence of his criminality. Not a pleasant job, but probably very rewarding on days like today.

A lot of parents either won't think about or don't understand parental controls and even if they enforce them I expect people like McCartney would subvert the apps.

I think there's a high probability of him being kept in segregation for his sentence length, but still these are seen as the lowest of the low and somebody will find a way to sort him out so he comes out of prison in a box.

Normal no, but yr6 (last year of primary) and year 7 onwards have varying degrees of kids with phones and social media accounts with no parental controls.

One friend has even encouraged their daughter at 11 to lie about her age to get an account. She was very proud that she had 11 social media apps and an average screen time of 8 hrs per day.

And her parents are quite tech savvy, degree educated but don’t seem to give a toss.

So sad
Not only did the 12 year old take her life but so did her dad as result.

I will be speaking to my daughter about on line security and awareness for our grandchildren.

This just breaks your heart.
