Jaguar air-con specialists?

I'm trying to find an air-conditioning specialist to solve an issue on a late XJS. Ideally not to far from the western edge of London. There don't seem to be many people around with expertise in this area.

If you can recommend anyone, I would be most grateful!

KWE down in Fareham used to be the go to place but I believe they went into liquidation some time back . AVACS Ltd down in Alton I know picked up a lot of their work . Sadly a bit of a drive for you but why don't you give them a call and see what they advise .

Many years ago AVACS replaced a compressor on my 89 xjs, very good service and nice to deal with, although this was possibly 17+ years ago, and things may have changed a bit by now.

Good to hear . I was last down there about 5 years back and they did a wonderful job for an old JDC friend of mine with a Series 1 XJ12 .
Not taking anything away of course from the excellent Tom Lenthall whom I was tempted to recommend in my original Post . It was just that
the OP mentioned Air Conditioning "Specialist" which I wasn't sure Tom Lenthall is . In any case at least the OP has some information to be
going on with .

Shut me down, if I am out of line but unless you are looking for experience of ‘common issues’ or already suspect a hard-to-fit part, does it need to be a jag specialist.

Closed aircon systems are pretty standard - Pump, condenser, dryer, pipes, valves, heat exchanger, so most garages can identify a faulty pump or leak anywhere in the system.

I don’t think you ‘need’ a jag specialist. These people sorted my 6 series and when I went they had lots of stuff from VW campers to Bentley Turbos in for work.

Its true you don't need a mark specialist to fix Aircon. But an aircon specialist will certainly be an advantage. An Aircon specialist with years of experience may also help as they will have experience of the Jaguar XJS. Not many local garages will have experience of a 40 year old car, running r12 gas.

If it was a 2017 Ford focus then I would suggest just popping down your local tyre shop.

I used Dennis from D&T Vehicle Air Conditioning to sort out the air conditioning on my XJS, he covers North Londen, Herts, Beds & Bucks.

+1 for Alpinair. They’ve been in business at Hangar Lane for as long as I can remember. They also retrofit systems for classic cars and you’d need to know your subject pretty well to be in that market.
