Paint warranty nonsense

Car has gone in for second time to have corrosion on arches fixed.
This time it involved the front arches as well.
Took car to dealer. Dealer sent to paint shop removed ppf from nose and wings and now dealer tells me they won’t replace ppf without my receipt as proof the car had ppf on…..nobody is questioning whether it had ppf but apparently Alpine warranty won’t replace it without receipts….Sod’s Law I can’t find my receipts as it was a few years ago and I’m waiting for detailed to send me copies.
Car is currently still at dealer as I said I’m unwilling to drive it without ppf.

On their first attempt at the paint repair due to oxidisation, the appointed body shop painted -over- the OEM PPF (the two sections, upper and lower) in front of each rear wheel arch). At the second attempt they removed the OEM PPF and put new OEM PPF on. At the third attempt they have either masked and damaged the OEM PPF or have removed and put on new but have damaged it putting it on.

Hmmm ... seems to be a pattern emerging.
Had to have all 4 corners repaired recently.
No one from Alpine checked the bodyshop repair before I collected it, so there were several minor issues (see other thread elsewhere).
This lack of 'sign-off' is a real problem as it reflects very badly on the Alpine brand.
Regarding the PPF, they removed the top half of the original pieces and replaced with new but in the wrong position!
When I complained, rather than rectify the issue, they posted me some replacements and told me to sort it out! Not the kind of customer service I expected.

Pretty obvious to me. Galvanic corrosion caused by the metal spire clips that are used to attach the arches and the bumpers/sills. They are now (or should be) replaced by a plastic itemArch liner rubbing?

Exactly, EXACTLY, the same as for me - no QA done, called and said done, just to get the loan car back - first loan car a Captur, second time a new A110 GT, third time a Clio hybrid auto. Martyn P said:

I agree. No QA. And worse still, for the latest, THIRD, attempt, there was supposed to be an ‘Alpine paint specialist’ present, but the work is still very poor!Had to have all 4 corners repaired recently.

I disagree, as my corrosion was not in the typical bumper joining sections. The body shop believed it to be crud sitting in the inner arches (although mine is kept clean in this regard) and insufficient paint/prep.
Alpine must have replaced the metal clips with plastic for a laugh then.There may be additional issues, but the main problem is definitely galvanic corrosion

I might be completely wrong but I understand it’s because they use steel mounts against alloy panels so it’s galvanic corrosion. The fix is to use plastic mounts.
I hate to say you are wrong but …In my case some of the corrosion was no where near the joints. So although that can be a cause of problems, not in all cases. The body shop put it down to stone chips allowing water under the paint.
Plastic mounts used in the repair so hopefully that rules out future problems?
At least the rust warranty covers another 8 years!
