Anyone purchased from Cinch lately?
Discussion
I’m looking to hear of any horror stories or (hopefully) some positive reviews.
I normally wouldn’t go for a distance sale for this kind of sum (30k), but they’ve got a vehicle in the exact spec I’ve been looking for. Very well priced too.
I’m assuming they’re all ex-lease that go through BCA and webuyanycar stock?

I bought a F-Pace from them back near Christmas.
Overall i'd say I was happy with the service and would use them again. Plus points was it arrived on time, met the description they'd listed and was a straightforward purchase process. It was clean, tidy and the member of staff showed me around the vehicle. I purchase most things through Amazon and I saw it as a plus point being able to do it with a car. Im pretty sure if i'd wanted to swap within 14 days the no quibble return thing would have been honoured but I cant confirm this.
Unfortunately my trouble came a few weeks down the line. It came with a 3 month warranty that covered the cost of the repair but I was unable to use it for well over a month whilst trying to get a suitable independant to look at it, and whilst they were there I had to pay for some extra work that wasnt covered under the warranty. I dont blame Cinch for that, probably whoever sold the car to them.
One thing i'd be wary of: If you care about the service history other than confirming the dates it look place via email I couldn't get any meaningful history or information on prior work on the vehicle to validate it
Hope that helps

My lad's just bought a 2nd EV from them - no problems
It's his third car from them. The first had problems so they promptly refunded him, collected it and he bought another like for like.
He did however later find out on a forum, that the car they took back from him with issues was simply sold straight onto someone else with nothing addressed or fixed.

Thought I'd ask on here rather than start a new thread
A friend was looking at buying a 20k car and saw a decent one on Cinch and was attracted by the 14 day money back guarantee
The purchase was to be roughly 50/50 cash and part ex.
Agreed a part ex price subject to them assessing the car in the flesh and agreed to proceed. When it came down to it Cinch wanted the full payment up front and when questioned they said this was right and that she'd get the part ex money back when the cars were swapped over - the earliest being 14 days time.
That seems a bit wrong to me - is that how they are with all purchases that don't use their finance?

So for a part-ex, you don't actually give them your car until the 14 day right to return period is up?
If that's the case, it doesn't sound entirely unreasonable to me. Why would they let you drive around in their car for 14 days when you've only paid half the cost, particularly since anything could happen to your car in that 14 day period?

Definitely doesn't sound right as in theory your friend would need to find an extra £10k (part ex price) to cover the cost of her currently owned car until they are happy with it.A friend was looking at buying a 20k car and saw a decent one on Cinch and was attracted by the 14 day money back guarantee

Is it at the point of them collecting the car and doing a swap over and/or driving to one of their sites, that they do an initial inspection ad agree to go ahead?
Funny that, they don't want to refund the part ex price until after the 14 day money back guarantee period has expired....
Sorry I obviously didn't explain it properly
Cinch can't deliver the car for two weeks.
So to secure the car they are saying she needs to pay in full now
Car will be delivered in two weeks at which time they will pay for the part ex.
So on a 20k car
Pay 20k now
Car will be delivered and part ex collected and they will repay 10.

Why do I get whiffs of forcing her to consider finance by doing this?Cinch can't deliver the car for two weeks.

I don't get why they want her to pay the full £20k to secure the car, especially as its Cinch who can't deliver for 2 weeks.Cinch can't deliver the car for two weeks.

Surely a deposit of £550/£1k is enough to 'secure the car' or even £10k, with the balance on the part ex.
Definitely sounds like they are trying it on or you'll have to wait ages to get the money back... I suppose if they have the 'extra' £10k for 2 weeks (pre delivery) and then don't refund it for a furthe 2 weeks they have basically got the interest on £10k for a month, may not sound a lot but multiply that by X cars and can add up.
Best thing to do is to tell them that you only have the £10k available and don't have access to the 2nd £10k and that's your offer, either take it or leave it!
