Pirelli PZero’s vs All Season
Discussion
Hi all - have Pirelli PZero’s all round on an X5 currently with the front 2 needing replaced shortly (rears on 5mm)
This is the first winter with the car so was considering changing all 4 for Michelin Cross Climate / Vredestein Quatrac / similar all season tyres
There is a niggle for me that the rears still have some meat left and I may be OK just changing the fronts… But then I would be running PZero’s all year round
We have done the winter/summer tyre swaps on the “main” car (wife’s daily driver, used for school drop off & work etc) for years previously so we’ve not run summer tyres through snow in a long time, but then we’ve not had a 4x4 before so not sure if that compensates.
What would you do?

I wouldn’t mix summer with all seasons.
4x4 will help with acceleration on slippery surfaces but not braking.
Not an answer for you, sorry.
Thanks - probably not clear in OP but I am either going for full set of All Season or replacing the front PZeros - so a matching set either way.4x4 will help with acceleration on slippery surfaces but not braking.

You give no clue as to the weather/climate where you are, or what you might expect over the winter...so nobody can even stand a chance to make a suggestion. This is the first winter with the car so was considering changing all 4 for Michelin Cross Climate / Vredestein Quatrac / similar all season tyres

Although it is really simple.
Bad winter, buy appropriate tyres.
Warm winter, buy appropriate tyres.
