MK8 Golf Phone Charging

Another issue re phone charging on charging pad centre console. I know this may have already been dealt with but as there seems to be no resolution as noted on other forums, has anyone been able to sort this out. Iphone 13 starts to charge but stops charging after a short time. Apparent;y VW know of the issue and they blame apple, but have there been any updates that anyone knows of, or retrofitting updated unit?

In my GTE, my work iPhone SE charges fine as do my Soundcore headphones. My wife's iPhone 13/14 can't remember which one, charges briefly then stops. I assume this is a phone issue not a car issue.

its something to do with the Magsafe built into phones now. My wife has the same phone and it does the same with hers, as you described.

Have you got a case on it? In mine when I have my case on it won' charge, take the case off and it's fine.

tried that with both phones and still doesnt work
