I’ve got a 19 plate base F90 and the extended warranty is up for renewal, last year they offered a discount when I called but this year they will not offer any discount on the renew price. It’s about £900 named components only with BMW roadside assistance.
I’m unsure how long I will keep it (considering move to M3 is this a good idea?) and everything seems just runs smoothly ( 27k mileage) so started wondering if it’s worth it to extend the warranty?
Just checking how many of the M owner value the extended warranty any first hand experience how good/bad it is?

Also would welcome any comments on M5 to M3, just having this thought as I’ve got a slight itch of something new, also M3 will save me a bit on insurance (£2.5k currently) but I’m losing a bit of luxuries and leg room at the back (which my girl might be objecting the change).

I have the last of the F90 M5's it's the ultimate model and coming up 15 months old, IF I keep it long term I will extend the warantee just for peace of mind.
I have test driven the M3 more than once, tyre /road noise is excesive IMO and the car always seems too busy when pushing along, I can't get to like it at all. A down grade for sure.
I would test drive one for a day NOT 30 minutes, then see, best of luck.

Agree with this. I looked at changing down to an M3 a few years ago, but when I had a drive I just couldn't get off with it, like a mini M5 but none of the class. Maybe I'm getting old (i am) but just found it fidgety and busy all the time.

Last time I got out of an M5 for something else, I made sure it was completely different.

My M5C Ultimate is now over 3 years old (owned from new) I was holding on to see what the new one was like as fancied a touring. But I'm not taken by it. I've not driven one yet but its just too big. We do a Euro road trip for 5-6 weeks a year and parking in some of the City hotels is tight in the F90 as is.

So its off to find something very different....... Top of the list is a 720s Spider. I'm not in a rush as I've got until Oct to make a decision....

I dont think there is a like for like swap. Poss 911 turbo is about the closest but the F90 is missing the Drama/Occasion..... Apart from that its just mental
