Car aerial

Radio Aerial

During 22 years ownership I have had most parts of the car apart at some time but have never managed to locate the car aerial.

Steve heaths manual indicates that the aerial is in the cars body and his schematic shows an aerial amplifier but I have never located this either.

Does anyone know where these are or if an amplifier actually exists?

It's called a Zendar Aertronic... hidden in the screen top trim. A@

Hi Paul, I bought it from the factory for my Taimar turbo to negate the aerial, fitted under the headlining, it is powered from the rear of the radio. A@

On "modern" TVRs I thought the Aerials were fitted in the inner wings . Although my Tuscan Convertible (and my old Sag) were exceptions with DAB aerials ... When I ordered my convertible I asked for the "Stinger" Aerial to be omitted because I thought it spoilt the lines of the boot ....They refused .

Keith, my thoughts are that, would be after-market radio fitters (and TVR traders passing work onto radio specialists) not understanding that they were powered and hidden in the screen surround (whilst swapping plugs for different stereos lose the power), either fit them there (access behind the airflow meter) or across the top of the fuel tank (behind the boot carpet). I have reconnected 10-15 over the years, simply because they work better that a 1 meter telescopic. A@
