Jaguar XKR X150 (late 2007) 4.2.

Battery dead, charged it…kept dying so I’ve fitted a new one. Before the battery issue both remotes worked perfectly, now neither will do anything on any of the buttons. The car will lock manually and centrally.

I’ve checked the fuses in the passenger footwell F3 and F19, changed the batteries in both keys but to no avail. The car starts fine when the key is put in the slot and the message comes up on the dash “smart key not found”.

Am I going to need to get the software and lead or take it to an indy that has it or does anyone have any other ideas? No sign of any alarm arming either.

Everything else all seems fine.

Thanks in advance.

The X250 XF is known for forgetting it's keys when the battery is disconnected. You'll need someone with Jaguar SDD software or a decent aftermarket system to recode the keys to the car, sadly. Sounds like that might be an X150 thing too from your experience.

I had to do this for a friends XF a couple of weeks ago.
