For a good while now, in fact since they were new, I have wanted a Bentley Continental R. Recently the itch became too strong not to scratch and I started looking into the prospect a bit more seriously. My research told me I needed a post 1997 car to benefit from better seats and update engine management giving a bit more power. With that in mind I went to view a few cars at dealers.

What I learned from this was I definitely wanted one. Having viewed some amazingly well presented cars at various dealers I decided that the best place for me to spend the most money I have ever spent on anything was Facebook marketplace. I also absolutely did not want to be bombarded with pictures of the potential purchase or indeed any significant details at all.

It was also vital that the advertised car was at a price that was far beyond my budget and indeed the price of any similar car sold in the past several years.

Luckily I found just the advert for me:

In the dark in the pouring rain. And the seller was from Birmingham or Bradford. If you're going to live dangerously then go in with both feet.

Turns out you don’t love Barrymore as much as the Continental R. It seems as though he had a convertible one… an Azure.

I love that model as well - just don't have the balls to buy one.
Do you mind if I live vicariously through your purchase?
