Accord Type (euro?) R, what engines do these have in the UK?
Discussion
There is what I think a Euro Type R, it does say on the sides Type R but no euro text anywhere, parked in my estate. It's got what look like recaro seats, which I assume is from factory.
I believe it's a 1998-2001 model due to it's body design, I think. I never took any pictures because I was in a hurry, second visit owner wasn't home so didn't want to start taking pictures as they had cameras.
The car is kinda f
ked to be honest. Rusty arches, moss all over seals, tires flat. It's not moved in a long time and you can tell because the driveway underneath is green.
Google tells me these have a H engine, but possibly a K engine? Did the Euro Type R come with a K20A? Wiki says yes but forum threads from 15-20 years ago are saying no, but at the same time in that very thread people are argueing over Type R vs Euro.
EDIT: tl;dr I want a K series engine, I suspect the chassis is rusted away to nothing at this point so I am mostly after the engine

Great cars, I had one a while back and loved it immensely. H22a7 engine is a little old school in that there was very little torque and you had to work for the power, but a lovely leap at 5700rpm as the vtec came in. Did my party trick and sold it at the bottom of the price curve in exchange for a mk7 Golf GTi. A rationally better car in pretty much every way, but never gelled with it like I did with that Accord. I'd have another ATR if I had garage space as they are of an age that they do love a bit of structural rot and need a bit of love.
X747NAV where are you now?

The H22A7 is a superb engine in itself, the UK ATR is brilliant too, but, if you want a K20 then yes, you'll need to buy a JDM Euro R
Yeah looking at some posts (they are a bit old now) and people seemed happy with it.However I'm considering K swapping my MX-5, I seen this car and thought it was a sign from god to just go for it lol.

The JDM Euro R does retain its value well and so does its engine as it has a more desirable inlet manifold and a lsd. The cheapest way for a K-Swap was to buy a EP3 Civic Type R, now with values rising the FN2 Civic Type R looks a better bet. I bought a Cat D EP3 a few years ago to swap into a Integra DC2, sold the parts off the civic which brought the cost down drastically.
A K20 MX5 sounds fantastic… I saw one with a V6 Jag engine in recently!
