Hi Guys,
I really like peanut butter, but not all peanut butter. My all time favourite is Marmite peanut butter, but they have stopped making the big jars and Tesco currently don’t have any of the smaller jars in stock, so I am worried that they are going to stop making that too!
Consequently, I am looking for a peanut butter that is mainly peanuts, with no sugar or added oil (especially Palm oil) and hopefully a bit of salt/sea salt. I know I could make my own, which would give me the opportunity to fine tune the recipe, but I would like to see what is available to buy before taking this option.
Thanks for all positive responses. wavey

Meridian. Palm oil free. Not the cheapest, but very good.
eta, available from your local Tesco's.

ManiLife might fit your requirements.

They do a few different roasts to change the flavour profiles.

Mani-Life nothing gets close. The deep roast is epic.

That’s our go to too. Nothing in it other than peanuts. Chunky not smooth

This for me - smooth or crunchy. 100% roasted peanuts, so no added oil or sugar. A lovely taste. And not bad value in 1kg tubs - £6.50, but on offer sometimes for £5.50

The Whole Earth organic tastes lovely - definitely nicer than the normal version and worth the extra. Hard to understand how they can be so different. The normal stuff is one of the better peanut butters already.

Another vote for whole earth, the prices can be wild in some supermarkets, ASDA the most reasonable I found.

I like their smooth.

The main factor is high oleic peanuts. Mani life uses the same sort of peanuts. Its really nice too, but I can only find it locally in small jars. I can find Pip and nut 1kg tubs locally, which works out much cheaper on a weight basis, so that’s become my go to.

To my taste buds, Whole earth isn’t in the same league as it’s made with ‘normal’ peanuts.

I think high oleic is where it's at. No palm oil. Probably GM though - if that's a concern.

It may not be fashionable but I live off Sunpat Crunchy.

I add a small amount of olive oil into the top of the jar and stir it up so that it is more spreadable.

I think it's time for another sandwich...

The organic is lovely, indeed. I occasionally get a jar of the normal one just to experience the loveliness of the organic again for the first time when it’s time to replenish smile

Got Mani-Life at the moment and taste wise it is very good, however it also has a lot of oil and you will spend a lot of time after opening mixing everything together. I will probably buy more though.

I would strongly recommend avoiding Whole Earth, I tried a jar when it was reduced at Sainsbury's and it is quite possibly the worst I have ever tried. Might be high quality ingredients but in trying to avoid too much oil (which I did appreciate) and additional flavourings/salt, it was very dry and also very poor flavour wise.

Personally I am also not a fan of Skippy - bought a tub from Costco and never finished it.
