We've been offered a price from a trader for a car and they are quoting 'CAP clean' and the price is a low lower than hoped (yep I know its trade and how it works haha)

Can anyone help me access the CAP price to see if they are not trying it on?

Is there a site or a link or whatever that's able to do it?

WBAC is even worse than the trader offer

Thanks in advance

Just wondering if anyone else can help with this - I don't think JimmyConwayNW has seen my reply since the topic was moved into this (the correct) forum sub section.

Thanks!

The CAP price as its pretty much nonsense talk for a seller now with WBAC etc in the market.

WBAC should, generally, be considered the bottom you should accept and motorway and others tend to work out better.

It actually doesnt have a CAP price! I just ran it through mine and it says "Vehicle not matched in cap valuations database". Autotrader Trade price is £9832. If you were trading it in with me I think I'd be offering you £9k for it.

Yes it’s interesting that CAP can’t find it!

Is CAP that garages use same as HPI CAP? https://hpivaluations.com

Discussed pricing with a sales guy on a nearly-new car at a dealer that's franchised for another brand and he absolutely insisted they'd paid around £28K for a car and said that was CAP trade price, yet I see it as £24K. They were retailing it for £33,500 but next day it dropped to £32K (and he said he would call me is the price moved, but hasn't).

To be fair, every example of that car seems to be several £K over the retail price in the link above - I thought they should be in sync (one way or the other).

How odd. Wonder why that is?

No matter but thanks for all the input and for checking
