Hi,

Got an issue with my 2014 320d. When braking at lower speeds (5-40ish mph), it feels like the car is pulsing, almost like there is a bump in the brake disc that is going round.

This doesn't happen at higher speeds, or at least isn't noticeable.

Took it to a garage who said they took it for drive and said it's unlikely the brakes as the discs look in good condition and they didn't feel anything through the brake pedal (I can't either).

They recommended changing the control arms as there is a small amount of play in them and think this is the problem.

Does this sound correct? I don't want to fork out £200+ for the issue to persist. The car is on 120k miles.

Also, the front brake pads have quite a bit of life left on them, even though the OBC is saying around 3k miles left on them.

Thanks.

The main thrust arms can cause braking issues in a sense that they're failing, move (bush and/or ball joint) and this transmits through to the brakes etc

It's a common issue

So yes; wise to replace them (Moog, TRW, Lemfroder would be my choice - don't fit cheap as they'll soon fail again)
