Driveshafts and CV joints

I noticed whilst dismantling the rear suspension that the driveshafts are slightly different lengths on each side. Also the width of the CV joints seems different. One of the driveshafts has a raised section in the middle, but its hard to see in the photo.



I did break one many years ago, so have I simply got one 1997 one and one from 2004?

Might have answered my own question, the diff isn’t equally spaced from the centreline so perhaps that is it.
