Recently picked up an E92 M3, been after one for years and I've finally stopped messing around and got one smile

Looking to keep an owners thread on this one, as these cars can require a fair bit on maintenance. I'm also going to be active on M3 Cutters and Instagram under the same username if you are interested.

My M3 is in space grey, relatively basic spec, with evolve test pipes and some sort of x-pipe/back box system on it. It sounds nice! (and loud smile)

I Like doing track days, so will probably get some track day inspired mods, however unsure how far I will go with it, I feel as though it's it too nice condition to be turned into a "clubsport" style car!

Pics below, more updates to follow in due course

Really want to scratch the v8 itch in one these but suspect it’ll be a 4 x 4 or a cheap jaaaag. There are some bargains about but as you said preventive maintenance can be high on these. Nice.

Nice, looks just like my old one, which I had for four years. I hope it treats you well.

Nice one. thumbup

I had a love/hate relationship with mine as a daily back in 2013. However I have always quite fancied one as an occasional car though. Plus yours will sound ace with those exhaust mods too I reckon. cloud9

Enjoy it. driving

If it is, I can say that the car is in very good condition, so kudos to you!

You must have very deep pockets to run one of these as a daily! smokin

Looks great and probably goes even better. Just looked up prices on Autotrader, that's a heck of a lot of car for the £.

My consolation is that it would be too powerful, so I'll just pretend as I sling (OK, cruise) my E92 330d through the local corners.

I did 10k miles in 10 months in it. So I spent more time in the petrol station than I did at home to be fair! hehe

You'd think that but it isn't, it's a lovely combination of revs and noise that doesn't result in crazy speeds so you really can enjoy the engine and chassis it's a very biddable car and the reverse of todays turbotastic point and squirt M cars.

The 2 favourite things about mine were the induction noise and the chassis for sure, and it was a very friendly car to slide I thought. Whereas the F82 M4 I have now is a right grumpy sod in comparison, and it doesn't always communicate well to you with what it is going to do. It will snap out sideways occasionally when you're not always ready for it in comparison.

Exactly Lee it was very flattering to slide out of a junction, especially the competition version as that didn't take the throttle away when the DSC intervened.

Absolutely!, and I have so many fond memories of sliding out of junctions in it as you say bud! thumbup

I used to love doing it in my old S14a 200SX as well, but the E92 M3 was arguably even better at it though, because it was naturally aspirated I reckon.

Really good memories. smile

Getting very used to seeing this already....

500 miles in and I've put petrol in it 3 times last week and this came up again yesterday....

Good job I've got another car that does 60mpg for daily duties biglaugh
