I used a certain garage to look after my car since I got it. However last year I used a friends garage as it was near were I was working . I'm going back to the original garage for future work servicing and Mots etc. daft question but the original garage shouldn't bare a grudge?

Why would they. Did you part on bad terms?

I thought this was going to be about reversing a garage conversion in a house.

I imagine the garage is used to customers trying different places and going back to them is a compliment in a way. I doubt they'll sabotage your car or do anything in revenge.

I sort of know what you mean. I live in 2 places so use 2 different barbers.. just be honest about why you used another one. As others have implied there is nothing wrong with it.

Thought it was about a dodgy shaped room in a house you had bought… who doesn’t want a 15x8 dining room…?

So you dumped one garage to go out with another one but now you want to go back out with the first garage and are worried she'll be bitter about it all? Are these garages in Essex? wink

Are naked grudges worse than clothed ones?

I don't think the original garage will have even noticed you didn't go there for the last MOT. Unless you are their only customer they probably won't even remember you. They may recognise you when you turn up, as you have been there before. But they won't have noticed you didn't go last year.

Indeed. My local garage barely remembers me in the evening when I've dropped the car off in the morning.

If it's a general garage I doubt they would notice. If it's a specialist then this is my experience: I went back to a local specialist after servicing it locally and almost got accused of not servicing my car for 4 years, I bit my tongue as I needed a specialist.

Had to get it serviced earlier than my specialist booking so changed specialist booking from service & diagnostic to just diagnostic and they cancelled the booking as it wasn't worth it to them. Good news - tells me the specialist is not worth the "glowing" reviews it has.

Thought it was gonna be something like....

When all the kids were younger we converted the garage to a bedroom so that the mother in law could come down to stay.

Now the eldest has gone to Uni so we dont need so many bedrooms.

The mother in law always complains about the rock hard futon in the garage.

Shall i convert back to a garage and put the mother in law in our spare bedroom?

We'd then all suggest no....... keep the mother in law on the futon.

Come on now. This is a motoring forum.

Of course we (or at least I) would suggest converting the room back to a garage.

Just move the futon to the spare room ...
