Hi all

While fitting the Motoclan tripod mod I've come to check the door opener and it's not working. No clicks nothing.

I've connected the wires as was but I've got nothing from the switch.

Passenger side works so I'm guessing it's not a fuse.

In the attached picture is the door switch the 2 wires separate from the block?

Thanks

The 2 separate wires in the bullet connectors look like speaker cable, did it work before you started?

The 2 hanging loose are the speakers. It worked fine yeah. I've since had the mirror off again to check the wires weren't trapped between the new tripod and the mirror but they're fine. Are the switches on separate fuses from the main central locking one do you know?

Same fuse I believe, try parting that connector and spray some wd40 on the pins, work it in and out a few times.
You can spray some in the switch too and work that.
Can't think of anything else.
Door does need to be closed I think for it to work.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Both door openers use the same fuse (6). If door locking & hazards are working then the fuse is fine.
Each door has its own relay.
Find, in the connector, the trigger wire. Orange N/S, orange/white O/S. Test for +12V. If good use a jumper wire to earth the trigger wire. You should hear the relay in N/S dash top. You may not hear the door solenoid.

Check the wiring further down into the door and towards where it passes through to the body. Mine was a rats nest of chaos that had failed.

Also worth investing in a can of contact cleaner (the WD40 one is fine). I have fixed a number of electrical issues with a quick spray into the connectors. Regular WD40 won’t do the same job.

If you de pinned the connector make sure you have them back in the right order too.
