Landsail AK01 'Apex King'. Anyone?
Discussion
Does anyone have experience of this tyre? Little general information online.
I didn't ever think I'd be considering a Landsail tyre for what is my 'special' car, a Lotus Excel. However they're by far the cheapest option in the correct size of 215-50-15.
Almost all road use (in the dry unless caught out) rather than track which the tyre is intended for. I have experience of running R888s as a road tyre in the past albeit on a different car.

Generally, you get what you pay for.I didn't ever think I'd be considering a Landsail tyre for what is my 'special' car, a Lotus Excel. However they're by far the cheapest option in the correct size of 215-50-15.

I bought a used Saab 93 Turbo once.
There was a small roundabout into our office carpark. One day it was wet and I turned into the roundabout at approx 15mph, following another cra. My car slid sideways from the rear! On looking at the tyres, they were Landsail. I have never known anything like it!

Range of Yokohama and Toyo touring tyres available in 205/50
Yeah I would be looking at a slightly size change than going with Landsail, without having any direct experience. Rightly or wrongly, a bit like wine, I have always assumed if they have to advertise heavy the are likely no good.
You see a lot of landsail marketing at mid-range tyre garages!
