Just a heads up.
I’ve just watched a video from Motaclan showing there redesigned wing mirror stalks and how to firstly remove the old ones then replace with there rather good looking new ones.
As this effects many owners much respect must go out to Motaclan for doing this mod and helping to remove the fear many must have with regard to wing mirror failures.

Some good news for once thumbup

Their design of the base part (screwed in the door), looks like the one done by Griffo400 here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
But their tripod looks nice. I've bought an original one from Motaclan few months ago, if I knew I would have waited the new design.

Yep. The tripod is stainless and painted black so should last a long time

It's a good idea, though the designer in me says it could go a little further in finish - maybe with a sleeve or similar to cover the gap and grub screw.
But I agree, respect is due for Motaclan for trying to sort an irritating problem, and potentially saving us having to replace the whole mirror unit for Corrado or TT or whatever, with adaptors and respray required.
It would be great to see it in the flesh.

Got mine today. Lovely bit of design and engineering. I'll see if I have time at weekend to fit them and report back.

I've done a blog writeup of fitting the Motoclan mirror mod.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to my blog from here so Mods please remove if not.

My blog link is in my bio.

Any questions please ask.

Sorted the switch issue... its the switch, new 9ne ordered.

Also I've attached a photo of the mirror folded... massive improvement on the original.
