Zard and Arrow appear notably better value. Postage is cheap. But what are the other costs since we gave Mario and Giuseppe the middle finger? Import tax, UK VAT?

Look out for Giannelli. They are the parent company of Arrow.

I had one on a previous bike and the quality is streets ahead of the likes of Delkevic etc etc.

Thanks. I’m looking for a homologated E5 slip on with Catalyst for my 800 Scrambler.

You'll have to pay the import taxes etc - I ordered a HP Corse for my Tuono, and although it was still cheaper you need to be wary of the duty etc (joyous brexit)

I bought some Brembo parts from Italy last year and even with shipping via DHL, their £12 fee and VAT and import duty - I can't remember what it actually was - it was still significantly cheaper than buying it from the UK. I do it on principle, because the UK importers of several brands put a greedy markup on them, just not reasonable, so I don't buy from them.

I'm still not clear whether we get a discount of the 19% EU VAT

I looked at a German company website but it was .co.uk and in English so clearly aimed for us

I asked if there were import duties (essentially were they taking care of that in the prices) and they said that the 19% EU vat would be removed for all shipments abroad but we might be liable for vat and import duty

If only all companies were as organized as Rock auto

Correct - they can charge the VAT themselves, or zero-rate it and let the import process apply it, depending on preference.

The Zard UK distributer offered £85 more than the Italian eBay sites without asking. It’s an easy decision.

I bought a Leo Vince twin exhaust from an Italian ebay store. Was £500 + £100ish VAT and £20 shipping. Think they were about £800 in the UK so still worked out better.

Also bought a Watch from Italy, ebay again. Was about £260 after all tax and postage, when they are over £330 from any UK store. Worth doing if the maths works out.

I’m definitely going to get some Brembo brake and clutch master cylinders from Italy eBay as they do seem much cheaper.

Did they knock the EU VAT off ?

At that price I assume so. Couldn't have been that cheap otherwise. It was a while back, I'll see if I have the history for it.

Tell me you're a member of the EDL without telling me you're a member of the EDL.

Why not stick to your principles and buy british? MHP can make a lovely exhaust for you.

Oh you got that totally wrong. I was absolutely part of the 48.11%.

Italian bike. Has to be an Italian exhaust. They just do things with more personality. This is what I have ordered.

If they didn't, they should have.

Although, if the bill was not over 135 quid they should have been registered for UK VAT. smile
