Track day use

I was shopping for a 911 (991 GT3 RS) for some trackday use but I’m curiously drawn to an early Huracan for similar money (don’t want to stretch to a track model)


I realise it won’t be as track focussed but has any one any experience of tracking these? The i suspect it would work better for road trips than a GT3 RS which would be a bonus.

Is noise an issue and do they hold up to track use ok?
I’ve seen loads of Porsche’s at trackdays but hardly ever a Huracan which makes me wonder.

The short answer to your “noise” question is “yes”. You can only use it on so-called Loud Days ( which from memory is 102db ) but even then you probably have to have a light foot and need to short shift.

105 db permitted at Goodwood on a 5 cars on the track day,

even then i think you will struggle ,

Any Lambo's now is a rare sight at track days maybe with the exception of Peter Saywell's

even then most are black flagged and as already said asked to short shift and given a second chance

which is a bit like going to a stag party and drinking lemonade.

Thanks both, although heart says Huracan, it sounds like the rational choice would be the GT3 then, which I guess explains why there are so many at track days!

In a ideal world a Huracan for street and a GT3 for the track.

No one makes any bolt on track day silencers like you sometimes see on GT3 RS?
