Day 1

Strategically placed .

The weather tonight is looking good, mist in the morning.
Operation is on, going to slip through the tunnel , head to Pegasus Bridge, take it, and hold it .

Photos start tomorrow.

Very slow start due to delays at the tunnel , first time it’s happened, but we’re now 2 hours down.

Lots of old military vehicles heading to Arnhem for the weekend.

Nice. I was at the British Normandy Memorial a couple of weeks back before the silhouettes were removed. Worth a trip if you have not been for the view of Sword beach. Bayeux was rammed but it normally is.

Visiting there tomorrow ( not Bayeux )

Last night we stopped over in Ashford , Hampton by Hilton £48 inc breakfast! plus £12 parking .
Nice hotel tonight inc the reserved courtyard parking in the pic .approx €100, no breakfast inc.

Stopping over in Le Mans tomorrow night.

Great day seeing the beaches , now in Le Mans , really surprised what a chic city it is , alongside a beautiful Plantagenet Centre !

Found a room right in the centre with secure underground parking € 120 inc parking and 2 x breakfast .

Walking around the beaches, just so humbling and sad, 19 / 20 year olds, just gone

Stretched the cars legs a few times , just laughing at me .
Morning in the city again.
Bordeaux tomorrow, 3 day stop

In Pau today , another great Tour de France stage finish , within a quick blip of the Col de Tourmalet.
Hopefully the weather allows us to stretch her legs a tad, we normally get on the road early for a sighting tourists view, then have another pass.

I did flash a white Porsche today, but it wasn't you.

Heading back tomorrow - west of Paris tomorrow night, Honfleur Monday, tunnel Tuesday.

I have really enjoyed my first trip in the 911 - it's a great GT car, perfect in fact. It just does everything so well.

Seen 2 other white 911’s today , one in Pau , a 911GT2 !

The 911 just does everything so well, amazing luggage capacity too, makes me smile every time I turn the key.

Mpg was 28.7 , including bursts at silly numbers , Peage was just ridiculously empty today .

Centre of Pau, € 78. Real bargain , great room , hotel a little run down , but overlooking the car.

One thing that has been excellent was the hotels ability and understanding to provide safe reserved parking , the manager today had a separate area for us, where he then parked his own car alongside !
