Brake Feel Change

When my car was in for its first service in August I had a demo car, essentially exactly the same as mine but only 2,000miles, mine now has 11,000 miles, it made me realise how much the brake feel has changed over the first year.
The brakes still work fine and are progressive but the pedal firmness at the top of the travel has really softened.
My first thought was a brake fluid change since although my car is just a year old it was probably built nearly two years ago. The fluid change made them feel a wee bit better but not like the demo car.
I’m wondering if this is just a result of my pistons being pushed out further as my pads wear and the callipers being a wee bit less stiff as a system now.
Anyone else noticed changes to the brake feel over time?
