Hi I have a 2010 DBS and have noticed the front grill has gone dull.

What’s the best way to bring this back to nice and shiny, or is it better to have it done professionally?

Many thanks in advance 👍

If it is metal you may want to try metal polish.

I have the polished grill as an option on a 2009 V8V. On mine the slats are aluminium and Autosol Anodised aluminium polish worked well - but didn’t get out deeper corrosion.. I would be interested to hear any other ideas..

2k clear coat spray will do. Be cautious or ask a professional

Thank you for the replies, I used Autosol last time but didn’t last long so will give it another go 👍👍

there was an article/reply on here about re-anodizing the grill fins. That is what I would do. Apparently you need to be very careful when polishing as you can cut through the anodized coating.

I’ve never found a solution that actually worked 100%. Yes, you can use metal polish, but it doesn’t do enough. Bright finish grills look better for longer, but it would be best to just get it stripped and re done

I spoke to Badger Plating in Birmingham about possibly getting the vanes from my V8V re-anodised. Badger said their concern would be possible distortion of the vanes during polishing after a chemical strip, as they say they usually have simple formers to support thin items while they're being mopped bright, before they go into the anodizing tanks

typo fixed

Wonder if it could be nickle plated. Would think that'd look good and last a very long time.
I've seen nickle coating used on small mechanical parts that had machined holes for bushing etc and generally holds up very well
