Neither of my Griffith 500 door mirrors move from the controls, so I have a copy of the wiring diagram and I'm planning to trace out this issue.

That said, on the diagram there are items such as 'block J' which frankly might as well say Australia..... theres no location and no internal schematic, so who knows what occurs in block J.

The fuse is good....

If anyone has been here before, connector locations would likely help me - if you can describe with something better than continental accuracy :-)

Thanks for any help

If both mirrors are not working then if there is power the other common area is the change over switch in the door card. I would concentrate on the ground here first.

The "joystick" is surprisingly simple to strip and clean, contacts in mine were covered in crud like dried up grease.

There's a relay in the drivers door, that does up/down or is it in/out? Should still have one of those motions if thats failed.

A regular Forum Contributor Steve_D has produced some excellent wiring diagrams including one for the door mirrors he would be worth contacting.

PM me and solve the Block 'J' mystery.

I suspect block j is a relay… can’t see one in the door and definitely no power with ignition on, engine off. Is relay just for changeover or does it provide the 12v to the door. If the former then it’s a supply issue… suspect damaged wiring or something disconnected

There's a connector plug inside the door that carries the motor wiring AND the heated mirror wires.

This thread about converting to Corrado mirrors has wiring diagrams in it:

Block 'J' is one of about 11 connectors on the back of the fusebox.
As I said before PM me for my wiring diagrams which include wiring for the standard mirrors and the Corado conversion.

Does the cigar lighter in the drivers door work? If yes you have power as it uses the same power for the mirrors. Relay in the door should click on and off. Best way of checking is take the door card off. That said the connection into the joystick could have worked loose and simply fallen off hence no mirror control.

Picture shows me having fun with tvr wiring.
