My late brother in law was very into Egyptology and Mayan history, we have a fair number of books on those subjects, any suggestions on what we could do with them, a lot are unread/perfect ?

Are you looking to sell or give away? Probably won’t be worth much.

Download WeBuyBooks/Ziffit/Sellitback/musicMagpie etc apps (try more than one) and start scanning those barcodes…free postage too.

Any anything that comes up as being worth anything more than 'next to nothing' can be sold separately on eBay as it is obviously something 'valuable'.

Or just take it all down to the charity shop.

Lucky to get 10p each from We buy books, although to be fair, many of mine have come from charity shops for £1.

If they are very specialised it would be nice for them to go to someone who will appreciate them.

Are there any fb groups?

Have you thought about donating to a University or Museum library?

When my father died he was a keen birdwatcher. I kept a couple of books and took the rest to the local RSPB as I left the gathered birders were already going through the books! Try a local history group or museum. I was never bothered about any money for them just that they would go to someone who would get some pleasure out of them.

As someone who collects books, I would love for them to find a good home once I'm not around. If they are not worth much, or you're not looking for some extra income it's best to give them to someone who likes the topics, even a school comes to mind, to put them to good use. Just my humble and book-lover opinion.
