Hey everyone,

I test drove the Polestar 3 today, Silverburn Space. In one word, WOW. For a 2,660kg vehicle it disguised its weight well, the air suspension worked fantastic over the bumpy roads and the steering felt fairly direct for a large car. Plus point was the massaging seats!
It does have a big portrait centre screen that is Tesla esque in terms of some technology such as displaying other 3d model cars as you drive and a Beach Buggy game.
Enjoy some of the pics that I took and I recommend a test drive if you are in the market for a £94,000 EV (price of the launch edition test drive model).

It looks nice for an ev but thats it im afraid. At £94k for the launch edition 98% of the uk population wont be buying it. It will be interesting to see how much it will be worth in 3 years time? £40k? Sorry but evs arent the way forward and dont interest me along with the majority of the motoring public. Ice is still the only way to go!

Extra info on this P3: Hey everyone,

This is the 111kWh launch edition P3 that claims 370miles+ range, I was seeing around 220 miles (with 89% charge).
The interior is incredible, very plush and the technology is very Tesla esque from the beach buggy game to the 3D render models of cars that pop up on the screen whilst you drive, that look like 2nd gen Range Rover Sports to me. The seats up front have massagers and various modes to use, they last 20 minutes per session per massage type.
Boot space in the rear was a decent size and the back seat area can accommodate adults fairly well. The rear armrest in particular is a work of art (see photos).
Out on the road the P3 is punch and hides its 2,660kg well, and the 22" rims didn't harm the ride too badly, particular on our notoriously badly maintained Scottish roads. This car is around £94,000 and it is for sale immediately, the Polestar space has sold quite a few already.
If you are looking for a luxurious riding and plush 2 row family vehicle it is worth considering.
Thanks.

This is a very expensive 100% chinese car.

Take a punt on some sort of a 3 year lease if you really must.... beyond that and even in the very near future it will be a damned expensive paperweight if things kick off with China....

You can play a beach buggy game, and the rear armrest is a piece of art though.

I suspect you will find WAY less than 2% of the UK public will be buying one.

I spent the most I have ever spent on a car in my 44 years of driving, a few weeks ago.

£43k on a secondhand Alpine.

These and other how ridiculously expensive cars are these days threads have made me realise that mine was an absolute bargain biggrin

Anyone else confused as to the meaning/relevance of "Silverburn Space"?

No, but only because I've walked past it. It is meaningless without context.

Silverburn is a shopping centre south of Glasgow. Polestar are in one of the retail units or "spaces" with demo cars in the multi-storey car park.

How much should a full size luxury SUV that can carry five in comfort, has 510bhp and a 4.5 sec 0-60 be?

Maybe £115,000 if you want a BMW X5 M60?

Or £92,000 for a slower GLE? £96,000 for an EQE SUV?

£98,000 for a Volvo EX90?

If you’re poor, they start at £70,000.

For that? £30k maybe, it looks like a rental car.
