Anyway of turning it off permanently?

Wasn't a problem in my manual Dacia Duster as I never seemed to have the car configured correctly every time I stopped. ie maybe I always stopped in gear with foot on the clutch ready to move off.

Finding the Alpine version far too intrusive, maybe because it's auto, but it comes on for the briefest stop. ie side road coming on to a fast main road. Finding it's stopped just as you need to floor it.

3 point turn last night and it stopped just as I had halted to select reverse. I wasn't taking my time.

Or do I just have to make it part of my start up routine and remember to hit the off button every time

I realise that it's disabled in Sport but I find that the box feels far happier in Normal whilst doing the around London gridlock commute

Not sure about a permanent solution, IIRC someone printed a 3d device to keep the dashboard button continually pressed, if you are gentle on the brake pedal stop start doesn’t cut the engine. A firm press on the pedal will result in the engine stopping. I have found that I have got used to the varying pressure so mostly avoid the unwanted cut outs. I wish that stop start would continue to work if you stop and then put the handbrake on, sadly in the A110 if you want the engine too stop you have to sit with your foot on the pedal. My wife’s Audi will keep the engine off once you applied the handbrake until either you wake it up with a prod on the throttle or the ECU senses the battery needs some charge. Surely that’s just a software tweak?

Disconnecting the battery condition monitor (on negative battery terminal) disables start/stop. However, you will have to acknowledge this with a left stalk press on every startup.

My pre-facelift MY22 has a number of random electronic glitches (silent radio, satnav) which occasionally includes inoperative stop/start; at other times, stop/start works even when the car is warming up. It is possible to apply the handbrake with the engine stopped by stop/start, but you need to put the car in neutral first...

+1 for the Audi version: one of the few things that I like on our Q2...

If you've ever coded a module on a car, then it is quite easy to do. First you need to setup software called DDT4All and connect with usb interface for Renault/Alpine (e.g. OBDlink SX). Then you need to find and enable flag E_B_STOPSTARTINHIBIT_CF in module of BCM/UCH.

This permanently disables start/stop, but you also won't be able to turn it on with the switch no more. It is good for your battery though

I've found the Stop/Start intrusive 3 times in 4.5k miles. 2 times were pulling up to a standstill at a junction or roundabout then wanting to move on straight away, which led to a very sluggish getaway. The most concerning time was in stop start traffic, where there was again a delay when wanting to move off and then lurching quite dangerously.

I like having the option, for standstill traffic it's good. The trick is to remember the rest of the time to just switch it off.

There is a nice toggle switch to turn it off. First thing I do when I start the car. Where is the issue?

My 2019 Stop Start hasn’t worked for ages. I think I held the button down for 10 seconds and it’s never work again.
Try it?

its a Bambu print plate or you can just take the STL from it. If you've printed it right then the little tongue fits into the gap as you hold the switch down then when you let go it will stay down and this just disables stop-start for as long as you've got it installed.
