Unreliable public services
Discussion
I'm sooooo p:censored:d off with the way this countries public services are run. Two examples:
1) I had to come home on the bus tonight. Normal car journey from my house to my school takes 15 minutes. But to come home on the metro, queue for a ticket, wait for the train, get to the bus station, and wait for the bus (which drove off as I was running towards it, b@stard driver) and then walking to my house (about a 2 minute walk), total time? 1 hour and 13 minutes. Thats just under 5 times as long as it takes in a car!!!!!
2) And onto the more obvious NHS. My dad had to go in to hospital and have loads of tests done, like chest x rays, blood and urine tests etc etc. I've been pretty worried about the results since then. At the initial test they said the results would take around 2 weeks, and so the results should have arrived around the 20th of August. And no, the f:censored:king hospital still havn't got all the results back yet so won't tell my dad anything. This really ain't helping me at school and stuff with that on my shoulders.
Why can't this f:censored:king country sort itself out?????

school as in you are a pupil? So much angst in someone so young ![]()
As for the hospitals, a phrase springs to mind "it might be urgent for you, but it isn't for us"
Where do you live?

Yeh, I'm 16 and still at school (lower 6th, walking round Croft in a Rossi blue and yellow cap) and I live in Newcastle.
in Newcastle or like me say "Newcastle" when in reality it's 10miles out in the countryside
The public transport, barring the weirdo's, is actually quite good up here in Sunny ole Newcastle - imagine what it is like in the land of the scary people! But it damned expensive - it was cheaper for me to run a car into town than it was for me to get the bus (assuming I had the car anyway therefore insurance/road tax could be ignored & I had free parking).

Not exactly out in the countryside. I'd prefer not to advertise exactly where I live on the internet but lets just say its 7.2 miles from Newcastle city centre (or was it 3.6 miles? well one of the two...). Yeh, theres lots of wierdos on the bus
and I do have a bike which is cheap to run but I don't really think bikes and suits go well together... back on topic, stupid f

The metro is great does what its supposed to do if you dont wanna use dont use it no-one is making you just making sure mammy picks you up next time
a more suitable post. There are only a few people who know where I live - most just have a rough idea "near Newcastle"
As for "stupid NHS", thank yourself you didn't have to pay for them - I had to when I needed some scans done and I have a feeling a "free" health service is a fairly rare thing in the world!

It bugs me when people rant on about the NHS but as regards me its served me perfectly well for what i have effectively paid for. You get what you pay for, simple as.

Gotta say they were brillient in diagnosing and doing the initial stuff for my hernia op a year back, but I went private for the actual operation as I did not want to wait and wanted better service.
I got what I paid for, I chose the private option
