Somehow thought I had posted about this before, if so, apology for duplication.
Long story short, my driver's side (LHD)s interior lamp did not work. Thought it was the switch in the rocker, but upon checking, after replacing with a new switch, was found not to have any wires run to it! Looking in rocker area with an inspection camera, found no wires?
Any thoughts as to where to start hunting for a connection? Anyone with wiring diagrams?
Many thanks!

There is only one interior light. On the header rail.

The wires go from the light unit down the left hand side (looking from rear of the car) so your drivers side. And connect up in the panel behind the door. I assume LHD will be the same as RHD in this.

Unfortunately, no wires in the rocker area, can it be under the carpet?

Yes. The wiring is behind the carpet in the vertical face behind the left hand door.

Can you post some pics please mate?

I was looking in the rocker area to connect to the switch, I have noticed a slightly larger diameter white wire running beside the seat runners at rear of the seat. Have also found a drilled hole into the rocker near the jamb switch.

Confused by your comment about the drivers side interior light not working. UK cars (the ones I have seen) only have one interior light mounted on the hood (roof) frame. Photos please.

I think your reference to 'rocker' is what the UK would call a 'door cill' (or sill) there should be 2 wires to the switch a White/Purple and a Black.

I can supply wiring diagrams but not sure if they are relevant for your LHD or year.

I have one lamp like the RHD cars have, guess really referring to the jamb switch in the rocker area that was present but nothing attached to it? I was not sure what wires should be attached to the switch from the Driver's side (LHD), the passenger side switch works and turns on the interior light.
A wiring diagram would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Ahh, I think that switch which is a plunger type, is switched on the earth. If you look behind the carpet behind the driver's (left) side of the car, there should be wires to the header rail for the light.

All you need to do is bridge into the earth and use the switch.

PM me for the diagrams then I can reply to your email

There should be 2 wires to the switch in the rocker (Door cill). White/purple and black. They run forwards as they ultimately go to the central locking module which lives in the top of the dash. If they are not connected then you may have to go fishing for them.
