LED Rear light cluster

Hoping that someone can assist!

Recently had new LED rear light clusters installed..I think they look great..but..I have got hyper flashing..which I believe is to be expected!?

Searched the internet..easy..just install load resistors..only a green and black cable to each of the new indicators..followed the guide and installed them parallel!

However..I still have the hyper flashing when indicating?

Further research says that I should’ve installed a flasher relay in the fuse board..so questions are:

Have I installed the resistors incorrectly?

If I have a relay..where does it go?

You deserve the grief for using Scotchlok connectors.

Ditch the load resistors, which may or may not be working with those connections and install LED flasher unit. In fact, if you've still got fast flashing, then the load resistors aren't working.

How old is your car? Different ages had different fuseboard layouts I think.

Yes..I’ve still got the fast flashing..I just you tubed a solution and that’s what came up..seemed simple enough!

Car is 1999..I’ve now ordered one of these as someone said..buy a flasher unit and stick it in the fuse board?

Just fit an adjustable flasher relay guy on eBay does them , may be under motorcycle parts but they are plug and play and no moody load resistors to faff about with , I have had decent LED bulbs in the tears for a few years no issue just dont cheap on on LED bulb quality

As Sardonicus said buy decent LEDs as cheap eBay ones can flash irrespective of whether the correct flasher is installed they tend to pick up HT spikes.

"Classic Car Leds " are a first class supplier and their LEDS are flicker free.

So my new relay flasher has arrived from classic car leds..at the risk of sounding stupid..where does it plug and play please?

Yes..he suggested a relay and putting it the fuse board

So for the avoidance of doubt on my part..it goes under the dash NOT in the fuse board?

This isn’t in my skill set as you can guess!

Sounds like your sorted now but I would have expected the company you bought them from to provide the bits to enable them to function.

Agreed..it does seem strange..but it is TVR world??

Personally I’d say if it ain’t broke don’t touch it

I did a dash swap on my first Chim and lots of the bits behind the dash are quite fragile. Not ridiculously so, but some brackets etc are glued on and seem to come off easily.

I put blue leds behind my white dials. Personally I like them, but some find them too bright.

Also, with the dash top off, don't bother bolting it back down afterwards. Much easier for future fiddling.
