Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace

We're off to the UK in the morning, going via the tunnel as her ladyship get seasick to easily.
So, a nice 4½ hour'ish drive up from the Pays de la Loire then off to the Ettingham Park hotel, not far from Bamford Rose, so I might nip in there for a chat.
On Wednesday we have tickets for the Blenheim Palace Salon Privé event. Preferential parking for the Vanquish sorted as well.
It looks like it should be a good day out, albeit we have to wear our finery otherwise I'll be in the doghouse!

For info, I turned up in a polo and jeans.. The website suggests Saturday is relaxed but still encourages cocktail party type attire.. So I knew I would be relatively dressed down..
Inside the event, 90% of people were dressed up and, perhaps just my perception but, they seemed to be looking down their nose at anyone who wasn't. If you don't want that to happen, you should probably make an effort!
However, the "inside" part is quite small.. Lots of Porsches, but also some rarities with some classic ferrari that you wouldn't usually see outside of a concours event. As well as some Tuthills, Brabuses etc
Was it worth £130 for a family ticket? Perhaps, though not for me.. I mainly went to show the kids some Supercars and they got bored relatively quickly. There were some very rare cars inside including a 250Gto.. And I think the ticket also helps regulate the event from riff raff (ie people like me, I guess).
The good news.. The South lawn was full of car clubs, around 1500 cars turned up, almost every car you would want to gawk at + you get to walk around the beautiful grounds..the kids couldn't get enough. I've never seen as many Ferraris or Lambos in one place!
I'm pretty sure you don't need a ticket to get into the grounds themselves (?) and therefore if we go again I won't be heading inside and will just make the most of the cars parked on the lawn and the infinitely more relaxed atmosphere.
